Embark on a mesmerizing full-day journey through the soul of Delhi, beginning at 9:00 AM from Connaught Place (CP), the vibrant heart of Central Delhi. The circular market at Connaught Place is divided into two parts – the inner circle and the outer circle. The inner circle features high-end shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and bookstores. It is a popular shopping destination for both locals and tourists, offering a wide range of products, including fashion apparel, jewelry, handicrafts, and souvenirs. You can find renowned international brands alongside traditional Indian stores, providing a delightful blend of modernity and tradition.
We’ll first explore the historical charm of Old Delhi, visiting the iconic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a symbol of India’s rich history. Admire the impressive red sandstone architecture and imagine the grandeur of the Mughal era. Next, we’ll proceed to Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, and immerse ourselves in the spiritual ambiance of this magnificent structure. From there, we’ll take a delightful rickshaw ride through the lively and colorful streets of Chandni Chowk, an ancient market that has preserved its old-world charm. Experience the bustling energy and cultural diversity as you traverse the narrow alleys.
After a delectable lunch at a local eatery, savoring the flavors of Delhi’s famous street food and culinary delights, we’ll marvel at Humayun’s Tomb, another UNESCO gem, and a stunning example of Mughal architecture. Admire the intricate craftsmanship and the serene gardens surrounding the tomb. Next, we’ll head to India Gate, a poignant war memorial dedicated to the soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I. Take a leisurely walk around the well-maintained lawns and pay your respects to the brave souls.
Relish a serene tea break amidst the greenery of Lodhi Gardens, a historical park with ancient tombs and serene pathways. As the day turns to evening, we’ll visit the ethereal Lotus Temple, a breathtaking Bahá’í House of Worship known for its unique lotus-inspired architecture. Experience the peace and tranquility inside the temple, a place that welcomes people of all faiths.
Next, we’ll explore the towering Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Marvel at the impressive height and intricate carvings, and explore the Qutub complex to learn about its historical significance.
Optional: If available and within tour timings, you have the option to attend the captivating Light and Sound Show at Purana Qila, an ancient fort with a captivating retelling of Delhi’s history.
