Delhi has some of the best museums in India, the most prominent National Museum at Janpath which has a remarkable collection of Indian art and sculpture, dating from the prehistoric era to the medieval period. The museum presently holds approximately 200,000 objects of a diverse nature, both Indian as well as foreign, and its holdings cover a time span of more than five thousand years of Indian cultural heritage.
We will also visit the National Gallery of Modern Art, with a collection of more than 14,000 works includes works by artists such as Thomas Daniell, Raja Ravi Verma, Rabindranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Jamini Roy, Amrita SherGill as well as foreign artists, apart from sculptures by various artists. Some of the oldest works preserved here date back to 1857.
